I’m red like a lobster

I can finally say I’ve tubed the Comal River. We’ve been itching to go tubing all summer but the Guadalupe, our usual destination, has just been toooo low. And I mean so low that you have to get out and walk w/ your tube for half of the river. We could really use some more rain around here! The Comal was plenty deep though. We’ve only avoided it in the past because we’ve heard it’s a pain to get into the river, which couldn’t have been more true. The main get-in point is right next to Schlitterbahn and the entire surrounding area has been commercialized with tubing companies. All of the places wanted to charge us $5-$10/person to get in the public river, and we even had our own tubes! Blah. None of us had any cash on us because we didn’t expect to have to pay anyone for anything. Denicia came to the rescue though and sweet talked one of the guards into letting us get in for free. Once we finally got in the rest of the day was fun. And to top the day off, we went to China Harbor for dinner smile.

The end of summer is coming fast. It’s been a hot one thought so I welcome the Fall.
