Glad that’s out of the way
Taking the redeye flight was a weird feeling. I was sitting in DFW airport this morning at 7:30AM waiting to board my plane and was surrounded by business people heading to Austin for business I presume. It was weird because I was nearing the end of my day, getting ready to go to sleep, while all these people were just beginning theirs. I wonder how people who stay up all night and sleep all day (::cough:: my roommates ::cough::) do it. To each their own I guess.
The big interview day with Microsoft has come and gone and now all I can do is wait. The interview went ok, but I felt it could have gone much better. I met with my recruiter first thing in the morning and she told me I would have three interviews throughout the day with both the ASP.NET team and the Windows Update team. Well, three interviews somehow turned into five and the last two interviews were the ones that could have gone much better. As my third interview was ending (around 3PM), I started to relax a little bit and let my brain cool off. Little did I know though that there were two more interviews that would cover the next 3 and a half hours, with these last two interviews being just as intense as the first three. I found it hard, nearly impossible, to get my brain moving again to answer the programming questions they were asking. Maybe this was the plan all along. They wanted to see if I would crack under the pressure. I doubt this was the case, but if it was, shame on you Microsoft! Hopefully my first two interviews will carry the most weight…
Pictures!
Today was a busy day. I went out to Redmond, went to the Seattle Aquarium, and went to the top of the Space Needle! I took as many pictures as I could until the batteries on the camera died, you can see them at:

It really sucks having to create a new custom photo album for every set of photos (e.g. Spring Break, Halloween…), so I’m trying out a photo gallery package called Coppermine. If the software works well, I might go back and create albums for all my past pictures.

I made it into Seattle around 5:30PST this afternoon. Thankfully, all the plane/car/hotel stuff went smoothly. I figured somewhere along the way a reservation would have been messed up but Microsoft had it all taken care of. They really hooked me up with this hotel room too :). Since when did they start putting flat screen TVs into hotels? I took a couple pictures of random things, nothing great. I’m not actually staying in downtown Seattle, but rather in a town about 30 miles NE of it called Bellevue. Tomorrow, I think I’ll hit up downtown Seattle and maybe swing by the Microsoft campus to look around before my interview.
