Time for something new
Hmmm…..
I should be working on my OS project, or playing that new computer game I got. There’s plenty of things I should be doing, but I think I’m going to start a new project. This website has been around in it’s current form for over a year now and served it’s purpose quite well, but it’s time to change things up. So what should be on the new website? Well, I think it’s going to have pretty much the same content, +/- a few things. If anything it will just be an excercise to become a better web designer. Here are some goals I’d like to accomplish:
- Keep it simple, nothing flashy
- Add some color! This is going to be hard because my color coordinating are horrible (why everything is just black and white)
- Take advantage of an established content management system. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel like I did the first time around
- Make the menu or some other simple part using Flash. I’ve always wanted to know Flash, just haven’t ever had a reason to learn it
- Use valid HTML. Try running this site through a validator, it’s funny!
- Try to incorporate Google AdSense on some high traffic pages
That’s really all that comes to mind for now. I’ve put a new link up top to the development page which is where all the new stuff will appear as it’s being created. I really hope I have the time to follow through with this and the project doesn’t just fizzle out.
On another topic, I wanted to clarify some things about my last post. I didn’t intend for it to come across in a harsh way. It was meant to be somewhat lighthearted, but may have not come across that way. I need to remember that not everyone will read something the way I intended when I wrote it. It’s hard to convey tone across the internet 
The last line was my subtle way of admitting that the recent goings on were mostly my fault. Maybe a little too subtle…
